WestStar Receives TBA Leaders in Financial Education Award

For the past 18 years, the Texas Bankers Foundation, the Texas Bankers Association's (TBA) philanthropic arm, has recognized dedicated leaders in promoting financial education in their communities through the LiFE award.

This year, WestStar is honored to be a recipient of this statewide award for our support of Junior Achievement (JA) of El Paso. For the past 16 years, our team members have served on the JA’s board and volunteered to teach El Paso County students (from kindergarten to high school level) lessons on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, WestStar participates in annual JA fundraising events: the El Paso Business Hall of Fame Banquet (since 2017) and Bowl-A-Thon (Top Fundraising Company and traveling trophy for the past six years).

WestStar has always been a place where people roll up their sleeves and pitch in to get things done. From our earliest days, our culture has been deeply rooted in a spirit of volunteerism and a commitment to make a positive impact within our communities. Accolades like the LiFE award serve as a reflection of our culture and are a direct result of our dedication and passion.
