William D. Skov

William D. Skov is a partner in Skov Farms. He began farming in the lower valley of El Paso in 1968 and has worked to improve and develop the farming community through service as a member of the Board of Directors of Cotton Incorporated; the Hudspeth County Water District; and as President of the El Paso Farm Bureau. He served as President of the El Paso Valley Cotton Association; on the Board of Directors of Southwest Irrigated Cotton Growers (SWIG); and was a Founding Director and President of the Valley Gin Company.


Mr. Skov was elected to the Board of Directors of the First National Bank in 1973 and served as Chairman of the Board from 1990 to 2016. He has served his community as Director of Hospice of El Paso Foundation and on the Board of the El Paso Electric Company. 


Mr. Skov attended the University of Arizona and received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Agricultural Economics. After graduating from the university in 1964, he joined the United States Marine Corps and attained the rank of Captain. He served in Vietnam in 1966 – 1967 and is a combat veteran of that war.


Mr. Skov attended Ysleta High School where he received numerous awards for sports and academic achievements. In 1959 he was voted "Most Valuable" football player in the city. Mr. Skov has been a director of First National Bank and now WestStar since 1973.
